As if in the arms of his lover
he whispers his mellifluous brogue:
each word has borne a lifetime of silence
each velvet sentence is caressed until it flows.

Whisper - his whole body turns around enunciating
in an intimate dance with his speech
as if every word pressed close against him
hugging him tightly, cheek to cheek.

Self contained, spellbound, pure:
he has never known what it means to abjure
the passionate instant of his present
its mesmerising, draining embrace:

nature is enchanted and gathers in his face
a menagerie of mythic creatures
a unicorn glancing in a pool
seduced by the soft pied piper of his voice.

Far away, unfolding like a bat at dusk,
some creature flies towards him out of infinite silence
tearing, inside him, with unspeakable violence,
hounded from the earth's livid crust

peering closely through him as it must.
